I am not sure what it is really. I guess a trinket or something. Maybe to a necklace? I just thought it was really odd and funny to see chinese laundry on the sidewalk.
Just another blog about a girl and her dog(s).
This is Jazz on The Lawn. She likes to walk down it and pee.
Jazz is sniffing where a squirrel was before it ran up the tree.

This place is next to a dumpster and behind some gardens. I like to call it squirrel alley. Jazz goes nuts when she sees these squirrels. Here are four of them.

One was trying to blend into the wall as we walked by it.

This is Jazz staring into the Indian kitchen. We got some take out one night after our walk. She was very interested in what might come out of the kitchen. They had the door propped open so she could see just a little.
Jazz has many cat friends. Kiko was her first love. Since they were young they have always played together. They grew up together. They are family. Kiko lives in the country where he hunts and grows fat. Jazz lives in the city where she naps and stays thin. They live in two different worlds but when they are together it is like they had never parted. Kiko has gotten grumpier and I suppose Jazz has too. However, they remain friends to this day.
Yesterday she slept all day. She was very grumpy too. I took her for a walk last night so I imagine she will sleep all day again.
It was in the evening so the light was really nice.
I just snapped off a few shots of Jazz. She hates me stopping her walk to make her sit for a photo.
I called the wildlife center and they told me to leave it in the yard and that the mother bird would come to feed it. It was a fledgling so it would be on the ground for about 4 days. It should be away from pets and people. We live in an apartment complex so that is kind of hard. I watched from the window and the mother bird came and fed it all day. I brought it back in the yard a couple of times because I didn't want the local cat to eat it. I am not sure if this was the right thing to do or not. (I should also mention that the wildlife center said that it is ok to touch the bird. It is just an old wives tail that the mother will not come back for it. However, after the first touch to get it out of the apartment, I used a branch to move him. He would get on it and I would move him to a safe spot. I am a little concerned that this was not the best thing for me to have done. Yet, I don't think he could fly and I think the mother bird knew that.)
Sunday the mother bird never showed up. I started to get really concerned. I thought maybe I was missing the feeding. The baby bird started to drop its head and sleep a lot. It kept moving to shade. When we went out he was on the sidewalk so I moved him under a tree. Later that evening we checked up to see if he had taken flight or what. He was dead. It was very heartbreaking. I know that it is nature and that some birds die but it was still a sad thing. We buried him in the corner of the yard.
Here are some pictures from Saturday.
Bird in hands to get it out of apartment.
It still had some fuzzy tufts on its head. It was so cute!
The baby bird was on the sidewalk and did not try to fly or get away from us. At first I thought it might be sick or injured. We got away from it and watched from a distance. After a few minutes another bird came up to it and started to chirp really loud and flew off. The baby bird started to chirp. The other bird came back and did the same thing. Then the baby bird made a leap off the side walk and flew a little bit, landing in the grass. It was learning to fly! I got my camera and came back. It was near a bridge this time. Basically, the same ritual occurred between the birds. I stayed my distance and eventually it took a leap off the bridge. I hope it learns how to fly and makes it.
